The Harpy eagle is one of the most powerful birds of prey in the world. It has huge talons and is extremely fierce. Female Harpy eagles weigh 14-18 pounds while male eagles weigh 10-16 pounds. The Harpy eagle can be found in Mexico,  throughout Central America, and in parts of South America. The Harpy eagle is a carnivore, so it eats a variety of small rodents, sloths, porcupines and opossums. Their population is unknown.

Fun fact: The harpy eagle’s talons are the size of grizzly bear claws!
